POPIA-aligned lead handling

Information collected

The quote form collects your name, surname, email address, telephone number, the newspaper or magazine you are interested in, a description of the advert, the ad size and your colour or black-and-white preference. The request is emailed to the AdvertiseHere media desk (ads@advertisehere.co.za) and stored in a server-side database, and a confirmation with your reference number is emailed to you. Consent time, source page and a one-way hash of the connection address are stored for security and abuse prevention.

Purpose and lawful handling

Information is processed only to respond to the requested advertising enquiry, qualify the brief and, where necessary, share relevant details with the selected media owner or an authorised sales representative. Submission does not opt you into general marketing.

Retention

Enquiries that do not become a booking are deleted automatically 12 months after submission. Records of booked campaigns are kept only as long as legal, tax and operational obligations require. Anonymous usage counts (for example, how often the quote form is opened) are recorded without cookies, IP addresses or personal details and deleted after 13 months.

Your rights

You may request access, correction, objection or deletion where applicable under the Protection of Personal Information Act. To exercise these rights, email ads@advertisehere.co.za with the subject “POPIA request”. If you are not satisfied with the response, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za (opens in a new tab).

Security

Enquiries are stored in a server-side database. The public form uses validation, a honeypot, submission-timing checks and connection-based rate limiting. No system can guarantee absolute security; access to the lead store is limited to authorised staff through a password-protected console.
