Accessibility

Accessibility statement

AdvertiseHere is designed for keyboard, screen-reader and mobile access.

Measures included

  • Semantic landmarks, headings, labels and breadcrumb navigation
  • Visible keyboard focus, skip navigation and large interactive targets
  • Text contrast designed to meet WCAG 2.2 AA for normal body copy
  • Responsive layouts that avoid horizontal scrolling at 320 CSS pixels
  • Form errors exposed through live regions and clear required-field labels
  • Reduced-motion support: animations stop when your device asks for less motion
  • The quote form is a native modal dialog with focus management, Escape to close and inline, announced error messages
  • No essential information is encoded only by colour

Conformance status

The implementation targets WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Automated checks reduce risk but do not replace testing with assistive technologies and disabled users. A public launch should include NVDA/Chrome, VoiceOver/Safari and keyboard-only acceptance tests.

Feedback

Report an accessibility barrier to ads@advertisehere.co.za. Include the affected page, browser, assistive technology and the problem encountered so it can be reproduced and fixed.

Known limitations

Publication mastheads are third-party images; each has a text alternative naming the title, but logos themselves may not meet contrast requirements because they are shown exactly as supplied by publishers. Links to official publication websites and evidence sources open external sites whose accessibility is outside our control, and are labelled as opening in a new tab. Rates, deadlines and availability are confirmed by email after a quote request rather than shown in tables.

Testing

Every release is checked with automated axe-core scans on mobile, tablet and desktop layouts, keyboard-only journeys (skip link, directory filters, quote dialog) and touch-target measurement. Manual screen-reader testing (NVDA with Chrome, VoiceOver with Safari) is recommended before each major launch.
